以来
How it works
以来 establishes the beginning of a period that continues to a relevant reference point, usually now. The main clause describes what has happened or remained true during that period.
Use a time or an event that can serve as the start. Since the ending point is generally understood, a separate 到现在 is often unnecessary.
The pattern

开学以来，我每天都很忙。
Since the term started, I have been busy every day.
自从搬家以来，我们一直坐地铁上班。
Since moving, we have been taking the subway to work.
Pinyin generally shows citation tones; tones can change in connected speech.
What to watch for
Do not use a future event as an already established starting point. Choose 以后 when you mean “after” a future event.
